Each joint has a switch to designate whether it is valid or not. Invalid joints, i.e. joints which have not had a joint assigned, can display their label in a different colour to alert the designer to their status. This is a crucial feature because the cutting list will be meaningless if the extra length for the joints is not included

FrameWright will also assist by automatically locating invalid or unassigned joints

Assigning joints can be a time consuming operation. The tools in this section are designed to make the process as quick and accurate as possible. Two crucial pieces of information are extracted from jointing:

Time, cost, and total materials are calculated with this information. The timber objects provided by FrameWright Pro allow for up to five joints - one at each end and three anywhere along its length. You can produce accurately jointed models much faster if each timber object is pre-set to the joints it is most frequently placed with. Refer to section 7.1 for more information.

Joint Preferences can hold any number of joint types, which includes additional time and materials.

The joints defined in the preferences above can be applied to all timber objects. Time and materials can also be overridden on a case-by-case basis.
